Hazardous Waste Collection

Hazardous Waste Management

Since the implementation of the new Hazardous Waste Regulations and the subsequent use of the European Waste Catalogue definitions, the number of wastes classified as hazardous has been significantly increased. Many every day items such as certain cleaning products, fluorescent tubes, aerosols and CRT Monitors are now classified as hazardous and can no longer be disposed of in your general waste containers.

Utopia Waste Management provides a complete collection and disposal service for all forms of hazardous and special wastes, regardless of size or quantities. We can also arrange on-site storage containers for your hazardous waste and provide expert advice as to the best and safest methods of storage, handling and disposal.

Whatever your hazardous waste requirements may be, one call to Utopia Waste Management and you can rest assured that your hazardous wastes will be dealt with in the most cost effective manner, and in full compliance with all applicable UK legislation.

We are able to handle all types of hazardous wastes including:

  • Oils
  • Pesticides
  • Solvents

Hazardous Waste Storage and Handling Equipment

Utopia Waste Management are able to supply a wide range of specialist storage units for all types of chemicals and hazardous wastes, many of which can be tailor made to your specific requirements. We can also supply spillage control kits, drum bunds, IBCs, battery boxes and a complete range of equipment for the safe handling of hazardous wastes.

Asbestos Collections

Utopia Waste Management provides a national collection and disposal service for all types of asbestos, whether bonded or fibrous. We can provide your company with open or enclosed containers, ranging from 2 cubic yard skips up to 40 cubic yard Rollonoff containers.

Skips are ideal for the collection and disposal of large consignments of asbestos. However, for customers with small quantities of asbestos, hiring a skip can be extremely expensive as there is usually a two tonne minimum disposal charge imposed. Utopia Waste Management therefore provides a unique collection service for small quantities of asbestos waste which charges by the bag or by the sheet. For more information please contact us.

Since the new Hazardous Waste Regulations were implemented on 16th July 2005, companies that produce more than 200kg of hazardous waste within a 12 month period must register their premises as a hazardous waste producer with the Environment Agency. For more information click here.)
